Intercoolers
Turbochargers are basically air pumps that create pressure in the intake manifold. When air is compressed, it heats up and expands which results in less oxygen to assist the fuel to burn in the combustion chamber. This intercooler acts like a radiator to cool down the intake temperatures that can reach 400 degrees F. This cooled intake air is then more dense and results in more oxygen and cooler air being delivered to the combustion chamber and then lowers boosts pressures. |
